True collectors will immediately recognize the name which has been around for over 100 years!
From their own site:
"Royal Doulton Home is one of the world's oldest – and easily recognisable – chinaware companies. It's also one of the most up to date. Group Chief Executive Wayne Nutbeen says, “We've built our reputation on creativity, excellence, and quality. "
Royal Doulton started with the entrepreneurial vision and genius of Sir Henry Doulton (1820-1897). Now selling to eighty countries, Royal Doulton Home (their online website) combines innovative technology with individual artistry. Royal Doulton's largest and most expensive figure takes more than 160 hours to hand paint and costs over £14,000 !!
That's why this brand is so strong.
With a tradition for excellence and quality chinarware, this is the Royal Doulton is the higest quality plates and chinaware that you could buy.
The online US site offers a lot more than just Royal Doulton chinaware.. They have Jim Shore's figurines, Winnie the Pooh collectibles and other fine quality gifts

GoCollect.com Collectibles Under New Management
I just received an email from GoCollect.com with some great news.
Apparently, Go Collect has been bought over by a group of investors and the owning firm is called Xyber Inc.
Alongwith this change it seems GoCollect is focusing on better merchandising. This is great for all the loyal visitors and collectors at GoCollect. Imagine this - the Web's largest selection of collectibles is now alomost 30,000 products lesser than what it used to be!
I feel this is good. Their website has always had many products but poor description or content. Compared to the selective merchandising at CollectablesToday.com, GoCollect was like a warehouse club experience.
Many best wishes to the GoCollect team -
TM

Danbury Mint Collectibles Site Launches Online
It took quite an event to bring me back from my hibernation... And what an event!
On a recent afternoon while browsing around for more new collectibles (my faviorite thing to do on a Sunday morning) I happened to venture to a brand new website!
What stunned me was that the website was the official site of The Danbury Mint Heirloom collectibles!
Finally, the thousands of loyal fans of Danbury Mint collectibles can enjoy the benefits of shopping for their beautiful products online! Danbury Mint has finally launched their website at www.danburymint.com
The wait is over for those waiting so long with patience. No more waiting for catalogs or watching the papers for fine collectibles and jewelry. Danbury Mint, after the Franklin Mint and Bradford Exchange, completes the picture of offline brands accessible online. I only wish they had come online earlier (but now, I must not get too greedy)
Enjoy their fine selection. Expect more updates on their products now that they are here among us! I definitely intend to spend some quality time browsing through the Danbury Mint jewelry gifts

Pope John Paul II Memorabilia
With the demise of Pope John Paul II, Catholic, Christians and the world at large is suffering a sad loss of one of it's greatest spokesman of peace and love for humanity.
To honor the Pope's memory, there are numerous religious items and memorabilia being offered to those who would like to offer homage to his memory.
I found this wonderful website which has a goldmine of religious themed articles. It also features very well selected religious gifts and religious items. Not only limited to Christian religious gifts, but also offering Catholic, Jewish, Hindu and Muslim gifts
What drew me to this site is their collection of Pope John Paul 2's memorabilia, including books and other religious collectible items.
I believe Danbury and Bradford have also introduced porcelain Pope Collector plates. This is not only a collectible but also a wonderful religious gift that will serve as a reminder for everything this great man stood for.

Halloween is coming!
Some interesting news to share this time around. I found this interesting bit of trivia from the NEW GoCollect site of "Spookology" on Halloween.
- October 31 came to be called Halloween when the Christians proclaimed November 1 as All Hallow Day. The night before All Hallow Day then became known as All Hallow Eve, and was later shortened to Halloween.
- Vampire bats in the same colony support their roostmates by regurgitating blood to bats that are unable to find food.
- Orange and black became Halloween colors because of orange is associated with harvests and black is associated with death.
- The very first jack o' lantern was made out of a turnip.
- In 1996, Americans ate 20 million pounds of candy corn.
- "Hallow" is an old word meaning holy, while "e'en" is Scottish for evening.
A pumpkin is a fruit. - Halloween is second only to Christmas in spending. Consumers spend over $2.5 Billion during Halloween.
- In October 2002, the biggest pumpkin was weighed in at 1,337.6 pounds at a pumpkin festival in Topsfield, Mass.
- Witch means wise one. It comes from the Saxon word wica. Witches were thought to be wise enough to tell the future.
- Halloween is the 8th largest card-sending occasion. There are over 28 million Halloween cards sent each year.
